Ruslan Gafarov: Founder of San Francisco Innovation Hub Since 2016, Ruslan has lived in Silicon Valley, studying the culture, mindset, and ways of thinking that have made it an epicenter of global change. San Francisco Innovation Hub is a way to open that environment to others: visits inside leading companies, conversations with the people driving change, and a peer community. Participants have shared the table with Steve Wozniak, Gary Vaynerchuk, David Yan, and founders and senior executives from Google, Tesla, Apple, and Snowflake. Mission SFIH’s mission is to bring innovators together to address global challenges. Ruslan and his wife and business partner, Alina, have been building this ecosystem for nearly a decade. It is centered around four areas: new ways of thinking, meaningful connections, modern business tools, and new investment opportunities. How the ecosystem works Silicon Valley Immersion Programs. Since 2016, Ruslan and Alina have been organizing immersive programs for entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. Over 51 cohorts, more than 2,120 entrepreneurs from around the world have taken part. During seven days, participants get an inside look at how decisions are made at companies such as Google, Meta, and Tesla. They explore how venture funds and AI teams think, and how Stanford and Berkeley shape the mindset that helped build Silicon Valley. Each cohort brings together around 40 entrepreneurs and investors at a similar level of experience. Alumni also return as advisors and mentors for new participants. Silicon Valley Camp 1440 is a five-day gathering where speakers, guests, and participants share the same space, without the traditional separation between a stage and an audience. The first camp took place in May 2026 at 1440 Multiversity, surrounded by the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Around 180 people attended. Many participants come with their families. While the main program is underway, teenagers take part in the Pathfinders Teen Club, with workshops, hands-on projects, intellectual games, and master classes. The program is led by Silvio Sangineto, Director of Design Thinking at Microsoft and a mentor to Stanford and Berkeley students. Speakers have included Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple; Gary Vaynerchuk; David Yan, founder of ABBYY; Mikael Yan of ManyChat; Mikita Mikado of PandaDoc; Maxim Nogotkov, founder of Svyaznoy; Mike Cassidy, CEO of D-Orbit USA and former VP at Google; Arnnon Geshuri, former VP of HR at Tesla; Nikolai Oreshkin of Elysium Venture Capital; and Scott Kriens, co-founder of Juniper Networks and 1440 Multiversity. The environment San Francisco Innovation Hub creates The more successful a person becomes, the more often they find themselves alone. “People who have built significant wealth often face a particular problem: those around them stop understanding their reality. Some of the people they grew up with can no longer relate because their lives and results have moved too far apart. Their business relationships, meanwhile, are often transactional: I do something for you, you do something for me. In that kind of environment, it is difficult to be vulnerable and honestly admit that you do not know something. And if you cannot do that, you lose the opportunity to get honest feedback from people operating at your level.” “I paid the most attention to building a culture that allows people to interact without tension. We focused on creating an atmosphere of trust and psychological safety, where people could open up without being afraid to do so.” Ruslan Gafarov, founder of San Francisco Innovation Hub Ruslan is originally from Ufa, Russia. He has lived in Silicon Valley since 2016 with Alina and their two children. One of his goals when moving to Silicon Valley ten years ago was to understand how some of the world’s most valuable companies are managed. Ruslan studied more than 100 organizations and spoke with their employees. That research became the foundation for his books: Be Your Own Boss, Business in the Hands of the Team, and The Culture of Silicon Valley Organizations. These ideas were also tested in practice. In 2020 and 2021, Ruslan helped implement them across dozens of client companies, from factories with more than 800 employees to retail chains. As a result, business owners were able to step away from day-to-day operations. Ruslan describes himself first and foremost as a researcher. He is interested in the worldview of entrepreneurs and investors building companies worth hundreds of billions and even trillions of dollars. His work has been featured in Forbes, and he has spoken at TEDx. He also invests as an angel and as a partner in several funds. More than $50 million has been invested through the deal flow he has built. More than ten years ago, Ruslan’s early programs operated under the Malikspace and Maliktrip brands. Since 2016, this work has been brought together under San Francisco Innovation Hub. The SFIH YouTube channel features conversations with Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and investors, as well as deeper looks at the U.S. venture capital industry and how leading technology companies operate from the inside. YouTube Ruslan also shares his observations on Instagram (@malikone, 200,000+ followers), covering technology, markets, and decisions emerging from Silicon Valley. He also shows the everyday life around SFIH: its gatherings, camps, and the people who make up the community. Instagram Entering the SFIH ecosystem starts with a conversation: a short call to understand your context and whether the format is the right fit.
