  2. Conscious Internal Dialogue — throughout the day, ask yourself simple questions: “Who is speaking inside me right now?”, “From which role am I thinking?”, “Is this reaction mine or automatic?”
  3. Reflection — in the evening, revisit key moments of the day and track which patterns or roles were activated. This develops a meta-perspective and helps you act more consciously in the future.
  4. Working with Emotions — it’s especially important not to suppress or avoid difficult feelings. Accepting emotions as natural signals allows us to address their underlying cause, not just the surface reaction.

When he became the company’s leader in 2014, he faced numerous challenges, including the need to transform the company’s culture. He claims that mindfulness helped him stop reacting impulsively and instead made clearer, more thoughtful decisions. Through these practices, including meditation and paying attention to his internal reactions, he was able to bring Microsoft to new heights. This included internal changes—such as fostering more empathy and improving team collaboration—and external successes—such as a significant improvement in financial performance and innovation.
